Ok I am interested in gettin the OEM sirius unit from everythingg35.com but my car is not prewired for it. Can I still use the factory unit or do I ethier have to get a new deck. or one of those ugly portable looking ones?

Some people have done a pretty good job integrating aftermarket units into the ash try area or in the navi cubby.

Anyway you can still install the OEM unit if your car has the "Sat" button. You would have to buy the $80 cable and run it from the head unit to the trunk.

Correct, in addition to the tuner you are going to have to buy the wiring harness as well. My car came prewired so I don't know from experience, but I heard that running the wires from the HU to the trunk was a PITA.

I hava NAV so putting it in the cubby is out of the question, I dont know what I want to do, dont the little aftermarket units use a FM modulator for the connection? I am very picky about the quality of the sound, so I prefer to stay away from FM modulation.

If you're picky about sound, wiring it to your HU would be your best bet.

I'm also picky about the sound, so I can't blame you. You can hardwire an aftermarket sat unit the same way you would a mp3 player, ipod etc (do searches). Tape modulators also sound much better than FM if you can hide the wire. Tapes are about the same quality as sat radio anyway so you are not losing any quality there.

You didn't get a rubber strip that was supposed to come with the antenna that goes along the top of the rear windshield to cover the antenna wire?

Oh and good job with the paint matching

This antenna came with my Pionner Inno it doesn't come with a rubber strip. A can of spray paint from paintscratch.com matched perfectly.
