You can actually read the navi manual onlin in pdf format-- it'll tell you some cool features. I agree with MNDZA-- if you're bad with directions, definitely get it. If you're good with directions, still get it, because it's so much more convenience

If the question is between factory Nav or aftermarket Nav I think you will find that the factory Nav is a better bargain compared to comparible after market units. From what I understand pretty much one company makes all of the software for the OEM and aftermarket Nav Systems, so you probably will not find more Nav features in an aftermarket unit. You may have more flexibility with an after market system when it comes to playing movies or adding other features. I contemplated getting my G without Nav and put an aftermarket sytem in it later but it would have cost $3000+ to get it to look as nice and as integrated(voice through the stereo)as the factory unit...and the birdseye view is pretty cool too! Hope this helps you decide!

The main reason people go with aftermarket is for approx the same price, maybe more, you also usually end up with a nice custom job, with a headunit that isn't a blose system, which allows you to have a kickass audio install on top of a navigation. If you aren't into aftermarket stereo and don't mind the muddy blose system, go for it. I ended up not getting factory nav, and the japanese double din parts are on their way to me as well as a double din headunit that has a 6.5 display and plays dvd's, tunes in TV, cd's, mp3 cd's, and will allow navigation integration. All for a little less than the price of a stock navi unit.
