Easiest Way to Run Wires into Doors?

I am installing my Comps and need to run a wire for the tweets into the doors up front. Is there an easy way to do this?

Or can I tap something at the kick panel for the tweets?

You don't want to use the stock speaker wire? Are you bi-amping? There really isn't an easy way to run wire to the doors, it's quite difficult actually.

From doing search's and lookign at diagrams, it looks like the tweeters split off the main speaker wires inside the door???

I can tap the + and - to each door at the amp in the trunk, but where can I find the speaker wires for the tweeters inside the car??? If I can do that, I won't need to go into the door.

BTW - I plan on trashing the bose amp and using an aftermarket 4cnhl

its kinda hard to run new wire into the door, I thought about this too back in march 04 when i did my upgrades but it was just easier to use the stock wiring which has been fine.

Where did you find the wires for the tweeters?

It's really not that hard to get wires to the door.

When I did mine, I pulled the harness quick connects (door jamb) out.
- they just snap out

Then drilled a hole throught the pin block to run the wires.
- there's a large part not used by the factory

Then chase the wires through & clip the connectors back into the door jamb.
- wires are completely hidden

Props for that. I've read at least 5 posts from people who tried this and ended up drilling important wires

I would assume you're using crossovers in the doors? You would connect the single pair of wires going into the door to the input of your crossover. Then run new wires from the cross over to your woofer and tweeter.

If you wanted to be extra careful...
You could make a drill template jig.
Then clamp it to the connector.

I did mine free hand with no problem.
You have to take the connectors apart first;
& tape the wires out of the way

Put the two halves together again & drill through both at the same time.
(holes will line up better)

I'm using Diamond Audio Hex components. My X-over will never fit inside the door. I will need to run new wires into the door for atleast the tweeters. The stock wiring I can use for the woofer portion.

if you can please post pics of how you did do this or at least to show us the areas we need to focus on. I been wanting to do this for awhile now... thing is im running my components actively so a pair of wire directly into my amp for my tweeter and my mid...

someone should do a DIY for this, heh... my wires are all hangin out the door, when you open it you can see em and it bothers me... but i don't have much of a choice now.

I bet you could fit the crossovers in there if you try. My DLS crossovers aren't the smallest in the world and I managed to fit them near the bottom of the door, and back towards the opening-side of the door.

If I could do that, that would be awesome! I will have to check it out this weekend

I mounted my HEX crossovers in the door in the same place amthar did. But I have a sedan. As far as the wires...You can do one of two things. 1st what intgr8r said. I did that on a 350z, and it was not hard at all. Just keep a steady hand and make sure you don't bend any pins in the process. The second way, which is how I did it on my G is drill through the lower portion of the grommet that goes from the door jamb into the door. I did this then siliconed it. Once it was siliconed I put some black wire loom over it. It looks stock. I am considering moving my crossovers back into the car, and if I do so, I will drill through the stock harness instead.
