V1 and false alarms. K Ka band

I understand the X band could be store door sensors etc.. but every once in awhile I'll get a K or Ka band when I know there's no cops around.

I hear some domestic SUVs with back up sensors are using K bands? Any ideas of what trips K band other than a speed gun?

Some banks use these bands for their automatic door openers or security systems.

Also, there are radar "drones", which are radar guns that sit on signs or poles that emit radar waves to trick people with radar detectors to slow down.

There are also some radar-based devices that are used to trigger traffic webcams to take pictures.

We have about 8 of these things here in Raleigh, NC on I-40. I haven't determined if they are drones or acting as a trigger for the webcams I see mounted above them, but they sure **** off my x50 no matter what mode I put it in.

Be careful on 540. Cops know that around 6 forks, and falls of the neuse rd there are enough x band signals to set off detectors. So they will sit right there waiting for the people who ignore the detector.

Maybe I have a cheap *** detector, but it seems Hwy patrol always registers x band, Raleigh cops K, unmarked raleigh pd X band.

They were out in force today counted 5 on the way to work this am. 2 at falls, 1 at leesville, 2 at 70 interchange.

Pete

Highway patrol uses K also. Raleigh PD uses KA as well.

I've noticed that certain radar detectors set off my V1 (K, and Ka), maybe its time for an upgrade.

I used to have the problem with radar detectors setting off my old Cobra piece of crap $75 detector I got for a christmas present. ever since I got my x50 I cannot remember one time when this happened (although it could have happened and I didn't identify the situation as such).

there are drones on freeways which measure the flow of traffic. these use ka band. usually itll be a very strong signal out of nowhere and then itll disappear.

I have an x50 and the tones are distinctive to where I don't even look anymore. At night I turn the display off completely.

I'm pretty sure some construction signs and equipment put out a warning on one of the bands.
