Navigation problem with Eclipse AVN6600

Ok, I just replaced my old nav with an eclipse AVN6600 and i can't figure out why the GPS is not locating my position. Usually, it would it pick up my location after an install within a minute of driving around but it remains in the default Los Angeles area. When I drive around, the icon is moving correctly, just not in the correct location.

It can't be a problem with the antenna hookup because it sees me driving and turning right?

I'm not sure what else it could be other than that though. any ideas?

couple thoughts...

maybe it has to be reset... ?

Is the antenna inside the car or outside? outside is best for proper communication.

All opinion...

Yes, I think all Eclipse units work that way. Grounding the parking wire also allows you to do more nav controls while driving too.

I have my GPS antenna centered ontop of the cover (cap) of the clock/AC heater display. Looks stock and no one can tell what it is

It should still work with the wrong region selected. I think it just messes up your POI selections because it'll only show areas in your selected region.

hmm, mine picked up without me doing anything ( besides picking the right region ). At first, it kept showing that I was in some other state, but I then just started to drive and then it recognized where I was.

I placed my GPS on the dash at the passenger side corner.
