Is the bracket really necessary for installing a double din indash player? Can I do it with only the finisher + AC control

Ok, here is my solution to the willow DD finisher.... I do not plan on going back to stock so I got the regular DD finisher with the black trim and then measured exactly and cut the ends off of my stock willow ends and glued them to the ends of the DD finisher I bought...

Wallah.... It came out perfect and you can not tell at all that anything was cut...

Oh yeah, dont forget to swap out the black AC controls on the new AC control for the willow ones on your stock AC unit also...

Now I don't know what to do. I hate the fact that the finisher and the a/c control unit I have is not going to match the rest of my interior. I think I'm going to put on the titanium finisher for now and order the parts from J-Garage in the mean time

or

would it be better to wait for the parts and delay the instal for like 3-4 weeks?

anyone want to buy my titanium parts from me once I get the new ones from Japan?

What?.... what color are your AC controls in your car now? ... If they are willow you can change out the buttons to make them willow...

the A/C control buttons are the willow color in my car, but you know what, it don't matter anymore...I got the Eclipse installed today and I'm happy with the black buttons. The black buttons match the bottons of the Eclipse head unit, so i think I'll stick with them.

I will however be ordering the willow colored finish from j-garage b/c I'm not really liking the way the finisher looks. I'll post some pix as soon as I get a chance.

Drtybrd61, did you order from J's garage already? Yoshi is a great guy at responding and everything, but I got a even better quote from Performance Nissan. Eddie at Performance Nissan said they have the all willow finisher in stock. Did they tell you otherwise?

talked to a guy named Justin and he told me the same thing, but when it arrived it deffinately wasn't the willow finisher. it was the titanium one with the black trim (like in the first picture on my original post).

here's some pix of the installed unit. as you can see, the finisher doesn't really match the rest of the car, especially the a/c vents in the center.

Did you use the DD bracket? You have Super Autobacs in your area? Sweet!

ya, i used the bracket. i read some places that you didn't need it, but some place said you did. i also hear that you could only keep the bracket from the 05-06 or that you could keep the 04 one, but you had to drill it or it didn't sit flush. anyways, i asked the guys at super autobacs and they said to get it.
