Thats the best advice.

My only opinion would be to stay away from the PDX amps.
We have had to swap out way too many of those units. We have been
switching clients over to JL amps.

Make sure you by from a reputable dealer so you don't have any warranty/ exchange issues.

I say you buy a JL 10W6v2 sub w/4080 box because 12 is too big for a coupe trunk space if you want space left over. Also, get JL amps. I have a JL 12W6v2 and a JL 500/1 and 300/4 amp sitting in my house that I pulled from my previous car that I crashed. (Reason why I am now the proud owner of a G35 Coupe The sub won't fit into my coupe. As for RCA cables I recommend you get MONSTER INTERLINK MICRO XLN 4 CH CAR AUDIO INTERCONNECT 5m. Do a google on it. I recommend this particular product because it is very thin for cleaner install. I don't know what type of mids to get so I would like to know what others would suggest.

I was a certified and licensed installer / tech for good guys. I know what I'm talking about. There are no short cuts in car stereo. You get what you pay for. You use cheap stuff, you get cheap sound. You might not notice, but if you had the same set up with cheap wires and a nother with expensive wires, its a day and night difference. Competiton car audio with 2 amps uses approx $500 for just wires and a 1 farad capacitor and that dose not cover installation.

Do you think the Pioneer Z1 is worth the $1000 more than the D2?

Personally, yes. It has alot more features, and you gotta love the HD. It really depends what you are looking for though.

Do you guys think 2 JL 12w6v2s would be too overkill in a G35 coupe?

Again, it really depends on your listening choice. Do you like alot of bass, what kind of music do you listen to, do you want the whole block to hear you coming? Personally, I think 2 10's would be MORE than enough, 2 12's would be overkill. I have one 10w7 and I think it's perfect. Could I go with more bass? Yes, but I'm not the kind of person that wants the whole block to hear me coming down the street. If you are that person, then by all means, do up the 12's.

Why not? Most retailers will work with you on the price.
The bad thing about ebay is you get no warranty at all.
