illumination wire Eclipse AVN6600 HELP
illumination wire Eclipse AVN6600 HELP
So the HU has a orange / white strip wire designated for illumination / dimmer. The scosche harness has a solid orange illumination / dimmer wire.
I connected those 2 together, yet my HU buttons do not light up, nor does my HU display dimmer. I noticed that on an unused OEM harness, there is an orange wire...could that be the correct one to tap into?

Did you use both scosche harnesses when you did the install?
The dimmer wire is on one of the two stereo harnesses, not the other two. The only wire you use from the other two is the speed wire (white with green).

I noticed that you also have the avn6600 HU. At night, does the background of your navi map turn to black, instead of white?
I assume that it is based on the gps clock and not the fact that the parking lights are on as to when the headunit decides to invert the map background from white to black.

Yes it goes to black and the buttons light up. It also makes the background darker on all the other screens. And yes I installed it myself, I have done a 5495, 5435 and 6600 in a few G's.
