yes i did a search.....lol

looking to replace my "cd error" 03 Bose HU.
someone on here is selling a 05 Bose HU but read somewhere that it's not a perfect fit into a 03 without doing some modifications.

anyone know the answer to this?
thanks in advance

The CD ERR FO is a great reason to upgrade to a double din. I was going to replace mine but for a little more money I'm presently putting in a much nicer head unit and I don't have to worry about it eating my CDs again.

Just step up to a DD kit with a nice Eclipse DD. You will thank yourself later.

asza, did your HU just go out? I decided to listen to CD's for the first time in a few months and then i start hearing some horrible sound. I now have the CD ERR FO too. Is the HU under warranty?

The head unit is under warranty just got the same message last Friday. Took my G in the following Monday and I was back in action. I probally would not have cared if I had satelite radio but it usually takes them about 45 minutes to replace.

is there any way to get the cd's out before I bring it in? My stereo sounds like a wind up toy.

convert to 05 bose.
and no i dont really want to go dd, i can get a used hu for 150 and a dd by time your done with it is close to a thousand so not really close in price.

and no, i'm out of warranty or i'd have had this done a long time ago

asza, yeah I just called and mine isn't covered under warranty either. It will cost a week without a stereo $400 + amount for replacement parts. I dont even care if I can't play CD's, but everytime I start the car I have that wind up toy noise.
