REALLY reaching out here..

So i had my alpine iva-w200 installed today, but now my navi doesn't talk! the installer said there were 2 extra harnesses that he doesn't know what do to with. anyone know how i make this work? how is the navigation's audio wired up anyway? directly to the stock headunit? the volume on the headunit used to lower when the navi would talk, but right now i'd settle for the navi just talking! help please!

You need to give a little longer than 5 hours to get an answer. I'm installing my 200 tomorrow. Do a search, someone made it work a while back. I think he ran it through his stock speaker that weren't hooked up to his aftermarket system. I don't remember if it was tweeters, 6x9s, or rears.

i searched for hours to see if anyone had posted anything like this. I was thinking that i could just tap into my front speaker wiring, but i read that without running it through an amp, the voice has a rediculously low volume. do you have navi on yours? let me know how your install goes.

I do have navi but I'm going without voice, for now. I moved to Hawaii so my nav is useless right now. Look on my350z.com, there is a diy writeup on how to do it by installing a seperate speaker for just the nav voice.

I just installed my head unit today. I don't like how much it sticks out.

alright so here's the deal: i found diagrams detailing the stock navi harness to the stock headunit, showing which wire was for what. I tapped into the "nav on" wire and sent it through a relay to my mute wire on my w200, which worked. Now my problem is that there isn't any sound coming from the two speaker wires! I hooked it up to my headunit's ai-net input, and nothing. I hooked it up directly to a center channel speaker, and still nothing! then i ran it through a small amp, then to the center channel speaker, NOTHING! what did i do wrong? how come my navi won't talk anymore?? please help!

Did you replace your factory amp? The nav sent the signal through that.
