playing burnt cds in Bose system a no-no!

i was told by the dealership that playing burnt cds in the Bose sytems are the reason why they malfunction. i took my system in to be replaced before the warranty expired because it gave me a cd error. they asked me if i played burnt cds because it was a common problem for the bose unit to go bad like that.

any of yall believe this shiznit?

I have heard this also myself, and have had problems with it before, but ive figured out that normally if I only hold one burned CD in the changer at a time, it doesn't screw up usually.
and seeing as how i usually just have my ipod setup, this isnt a problem really.

I think the issue is more if you use lables on your burnt CD's. I believe the lables can eventually fall off and get stuck. I'm fully loaded with verbatum CD's and no problems at all

Sounds like they are blowing you off. Burned CD's shouldn't effect your stereo. If that was the case, every manufacturer would have problems as well.

There full of bull $hit. I just had my deck replaced 2 weeks ago. I had brand new cd's (Jay-Z, Fat Joe and Jim Jones) in my deck. Burnt cd's aren't a problem Bose just messed up a batch of decks for our cars and they don't want to admit it.

Kinda. It's not about the labels falling off. It's that the label upsets the balance of the cd when it spins at whatever rpm it spins at. It's like having an unbalanced load in your washing machine.

And for another poster... read your owner's manual; it actually says not to play cdr/rw in the system. I guess if the dealer really wanted to press the issue, then they could point that little part out. Thing is, I doubt the dumbasses at the dealerships even know that statement is in the manual.

One problem all manufactures have is the thickness with a label on a burnt cd. What is weird is the no cdr's thats in the owners manual but it is a mp3 player. Where do you get mp3 that are not burnt?

Use good quality CD-R's like TDK. All blank CD-R's are NOT the same.

hahaha bureacracy at its best, what a hunk of $hit....all I have ever played (before my PA11-NIS) were burnt MP3 cds of various brands, and no problem whatsoever, besides, whats the big difference between a "normal" cd and a cd-r only the paint labeling, otherwise no difference whatsoever...

dont even worry about that, if anything just tell them that you dont even know how to burn a cd and have never owned one LOL

I was just going to post that. How would I have 6 cd's full of mp3 albums in my changer if I wasn't going to use cdr's?

Retarded.....
