XM Question????

I just installed the Infinity XM kit from www.everythingg35.com . Easy install. My question and problem, the signal cuts in and out when going under bridges, roads with lots of thick trees, and cloudy days. Is this normal for ALL satellite systems or just the one I have?

The antenna seems small compared to the Sirrus antenna. Could this be it?

Other than putting that big ugly Sirrus antenna on my car is there a fix for this??

I have a question, if you dont mind. Do you have the sat button on your headunit setup? Stock, i mean? I have the sat button, but have been wondering what i have to do to get the XM installed and working in my car.

Yup, I have the SAT button. I bought the whole kit from everythingg35.com . It was something like $240. Grubbs advertises it cheaper but all the extras like an antenna are extra which will jack the price up to $240.

I know the aftermarket plugins are cheaper but I didn't want a bunch of wires hanging around.

Oh, ok, fair enough. Does this come with the antenna that goes on the roof above the back window? And does this use the factory head unit to store the presets? Sorry for questions, just wondering before i spend it. Also, was planning on doing the dvdnav2go, does this kit work well with that? or should i look into something else? Thanks for answers, sorry for all questions.

Thats normal for any satellite system when there aren't any repeaters in the area you're driving in. Although I never had a problem on a cloudy day.

The kit I bought came with everything. I believe if you have an early '03 model you have to buy the wiring harness as well. I know '04 and newer are already wired for it.

Yes it uses the factory head unit. There are two satellite presets for a total of twelve.

Probably the hardest part was feeding the antenna wire under the little rubber seal on the left edge of the back glass. I'd say total start to finish the job took me about 1.5 hours.

I don't know about the navi thing you are buying.
