show me how to wire 2ohms

show me how to wire 2ohms

heys guys i have a 12 in alpine type r i wanted to wire it down to two possibly one ohm does anyone have a diagram any kind of help would be great thank you

You must have a sub with dual 4-ohm voice coils to have a 2-ohm load. The SWR-1242D is the current model 12" D-4 sub. Wire in parallel. See wiring tutorials at JLAudio.com if you don't know what parallel vs. series wiring is.

you have to check and see what speaker you have if you have a dual 4 ohm speaker you can wire it to 2 ohms or up to 8 ohms
if you have a dual 2 ohm speaker it can be wired to 4 ohms or down to 1 ohm.

^just wonderin why would u wire a sub to 8ohms if u could wire it to 2?

Some amps aren't stable at 2 ohms, and to wire multiple subs in parallel. IE 4 DVC subs wired in parallel to 8 ohm subs wired in parallel with each other produces a final resistance of 2 ohms.
