Installing Ipod to Eclipse DD
Hi guys,
I currently have the eclipse avn5435 and would like to integrate the ipod in there. Has anyone done it before and can you navigate the songs and albums through the touchscreen? I'm a little lost on this. Does the IPC 106 work for the avn5435? Roughly how much is typical installation cost for this? thanks

You can access all songs on your ipod with the eclipse ipc-106 (connector). You can Basically it uses the sirius out so if you have sirius then you have to connect it through VTR which is like not being connected at all. It plays but no display or control through VTR. No scrolling, so makes life very difficult. So I did make a couple of playlists which makes things much easier...when I want a song that isnt on a playlist, I have to disconnect my ipod, find the song and play it, then reconnect the ipod. Very inconvenient. Much better than no ipod control, but terrible compared to full control. No moving between playlists, fast forward / reverse through songs. One of the reasons I bought the 5500 was because it said it was ipod compatible, I didn't know it would offer limited control. Oh well, its not enough for me to get a new headunit over. But apparently the AVN6600 offers full IPOD control, which would be my choice if I were to get a different unit.
