Aussie 350gt help - Navi

Hi guys,

I'm about to bring in a 350GT into Australia and have a prob with the Navi. As far as I know, no one here can convert the Japanese Navi system to work in Australia. Heaps of people have said it can be done, but I have heard it's thousands of $$'s and still can't find anyone who can do t.

What i was thinking was to buy a car without the Navi unit, and then buying all the components to turn the standard non navi storage section into a pop up screen one. But instead of the OEM Navi, I'll have something like the Navman or whatever popping up. What do you think? I would love an all in one touchscreen headunit in there, but then what do i do with the standard one?

Anyone know if the US Navi system will work in Australia, and what will be needed for the conversion? If yes, where can i buy these from?

Any other ideas?, i would really prefer the OEM Navi, With all the buttons, but am yet to find a way to get this working.
