2004 CD changer faster and better? don't think so

Just got off my loaner 2004 sedan.
I remember someone saying that for 2004, Infiniti changed the CD changer so that it is faster and less likely to have the dreaded CD error FO...
well, what do you know, my CDs are stuck in the damn thing again...
how does Infiniti prepare the G with such a troublesome CD changer is beyond me... >_<

I would never use the CD in a loaner, you never know what someone may have done to it! And, do you know for sure the loaner was a '04?

My 04' cd changer has worked flawlessly so far. The loading/unloading/disc switching is fast. The only problem is that it's working so fast that the mechanical movement inside is a bit loud. Doesn't bother me though for only a few seconds.

I have a 2004 with a bad CD changer as well. Although mine just skips when it's cold. Works ok after warming up. I have a new CD Changer on order.

As far as speed to change disc, if the 2004 is suppose to be faster, I'd hate to see how long it took a 2003 to change discs.

Was it a BOSE system that ate your discs?

Trust me, guys. The 2004 CD changer is (as hard as it may be to believe) WAY faster than the 03.

I have an 03 coupe and if I have my CD changer stops working will they replace it with the new faster one or the old slow POS?

unfortunately the newer changer is not retro-fittable on the 03 cars...
u'll still get the crappy, easier-than-hell-to-stuck changer...

I don't know what they were thinking...

even MB is making their DVD-COMAND retro-fittable....
I wish I can get the new changer and the stock NAVI, but I guess that's not meant to be... T_T

How much difference can there be? There isn't any difference in the dash/console design, is there?

The '03 changer is so slow that I use mine as an egg timer.

I have been paying more attention to my changer since reading this thread, and I have no complaints, you can hear it changing before the time code on the last selection is finished, and as soon as the time code ends, it begins on the next CD, not bad at all!!

That's if it switches from the last song on one disc to the first song on the next disc on it's own.

If you push a button to change discs, there's a nice long pause.
