Bose Subwoofer Rattling, BIG problem

Bose Subwoofer Rattling, BIG problem

So a couple days ago my sub in the back of my sedan starts to rattle and so I take it into the dealership to hopefully get a diagnosis. It turns out all they said was that for them to even take a look at it it would be $270 and if it was indeed broken, then it would be $650 to replace it!

I declined on both accounts and now I am not sure what to do. I am considering just disconnecting the sub and buying some sort of aftermarket sub but I don't want to have to spen that much money. Please give any advice and/or suggestions.

Bring it to a local garage you can trust, 270$ just to look at it
they are out of their minds.
