The power antenna output might only supply +12v when the radio is on. There should be an amp turn on wire available on your headunit.

i double checked to see if the was a remote turn on wire on the alpine(iva-d300) hu but it didn't have one. so i tried hooking up the red ignition wire with remote on wire and still nothing!! my last option is to try to tap the remote wire on the bose amp harness. man this is driving me nuts!!

I went to the Alpine website and downloaded the manual to your iva-d300. The remote turn on wire from your head unit that you want to use to connect to the remote turn on on your amp is blue/white. Wire #25 in the diagram.

You need a voltage meter. Check the voltage on the remote amp turn on to see if it's getting +12v when the Alpine powers up, check the input power to your amp. When you've ruled that stuff out, then you can check the RCA's, etc.

If the turn on wire is getting power, then you have a power or ground problem with the amp.

Update #2: okay finally got the amp to work and now im having problems with the rears speakers coming on(atleast the fronts are working) . i used this diagram provided by Gilley.

Factory Bose speaker harness wiring colors:

Rear Door Right + Brown/Silver
Rear Door Right - Black/Silver

Rear Door Left + Green/Yellow
Rear Door Left - Black/Yellow

Rear Deck Right + Blue/Red
Rear Deck Right - Blue/White

Rear Deck Left + Blue/Yellow
Rear Deck Left - White/Green

combined these rear wires to amp:

rear left + : greeen/yellow
blue/yellow

rear left -: black/yellow
white/green

rear right + : brown/silver
blue/red

rear right - : black/silver
blue/white

is there anything else im supposed to connect?

What are your RCA's going from the headunit to the amp?? Are you running four RCA's, front left, front right, rear left, rear right???

Some amps will power the front and rear speakers off of a single L & R input. Also, sunning new wire to the rear speakers is really easy if you have the side panels out.

hmmm...hopefully thats not the case for the amp i have. since its a 4 channel amp it makes sense to have 2 sets of rca's wires for the front and rear. i dunno, this is my first time installing a 4 channel amp so what do i know
