2003.5 in toronto and remote settings
I went to Alta Infiniti today, trying to ask them about the remote setting (more on that later)
My sales told me they just got 14 new shipments today, i think they are mixed with other models because i dont' see 14 new Gs on the lot. Most of the Gs on the lot are in silver and DP colors. Good news is that we have the same changes as the US 2003.5 models. Bad news is we don't have Satelite stereos as option.
As for the remote settings, i showed them the list i printed off from this board. But my sales has no idea you can change it. So, we went to the parts department asking the manager if it's possible. The manager responed by saying "those G35 internet fourm, always finds out information that we dont' even know." He then said it's possible to change the setting. however, we have to charge you $75 to reprogram the computer and the keys!
so now i am still thinking if it's worth it to fork out 75 bucks to program the setting.

Re: 2003.5 in toronto and remote settings
I'm skeptical that reprogramming the keys is required. On my Jetta (which also had remote door locks) I wanted a setting changed - the mechanic plugged in a simple box to an electrical connector under the dash, scrolled through a list of numeric options on a simple diode display and selected the setting I wanted - took about 2 minutes and was free.
I think the comment was made in ignorance - I'm an Alta customer too...

Re: 2003.5 in toronto and remote settings
Re-programming stuff like this was done through fuses on my dad's Oldsmobile Silhouette (van). All GM cars are the same that way.
However, I was given a free key and when they gave it to me it wasn't programmed to even start the car. We found out the next day when after driving the car home. I have to get them re-programmed anyway, and if they charge me ANYTHING, i'll go nuts on them!! =)

I don't think they'll charge you for that, it isn't your fault.
But i am kinda pissed about the whole situation. I am spending 50k to buy a car. They won't even reprogram this little key fob for free? That says alot about the dealership... Hmmmmm....
