Ok, is the the optionial Bose Audio System worth it, or are you better off installing a sub and an amp but losing the precious trunk space? I hear that you cannot blow out the Bose speakers, yet they do sound sort of weak.

 

If you're planning on getting the premium package, you'll get the Bose. I wouldn't advice shelling out the money for ONLY the Bose, unless you're a Bose fan (which it sounds like you're not).

Well, I did not have a chance to test the basic system before I got mine, but I personally love how the Bose system sounds. At first, I didn't like it...until I fixed the EQ, treble, bass, etc. If you can, ask your dealer if you can listen to both systems and judge for yourself. I probably would not mind the base system either if I had it. Mine just had the premium package already, so it was like a bonus for me.

This subject has had a lot of attention. I think that the type of music you listen to will affect how you feel about the Bose. Rock sounds better that Rap. There is not an abundance of base with the Bose. The response is quite flat. Well recorded classical or even Rock can be enjoyed this way. I find the system ok. My son has thousands invested in high end sound equipment in his car and I cannot get my music to sound good on it but his sounds great.

Take a couple of cd's of what you like and try the Bose before you buy.

Yea. The type of music varies with the sound quality. To me, classical and jazz sound the best. I listen to a wide variety of music, and hip hop is by far the worst genre on the Bose system.
