Hey everyone..been browsing the boards for a while without posting...found this site to be very helpful in researching and purchasing my stuff...saw that there weren't many pictures of the d3 installed, so i wanted to post to help those deciding on this unit...I purchased and installed:

Pionner avic-d3
PAC SWI-PS
Ipod cable

the avic is really nice..the only gripe I had was the single disc, but with the ipod i have yet to make a CD in 3 years...navigation so far has been accurate...a great unit for the price

very simple setup...paid about $1100 for the parts (including avic, A/C controller, DD finish) and $520 for installation of unit and sub/amp by Tweeter...so a grand total of $1620 which I find to be pretty reasonable

Great first post, welcome to the boards.

So, does Pioneer not make a 6-disc or multi-disc version, or did you simply choose the single-disc setup for the cost savings? It looks great. Your car looks extra clean inside...must be brand new!?

I think the D1 and D2 had 2 disc slots...so you were able to keep the map DVD in and use the other free slot for other CD's or DVD's...My overall budget was around $1500, and so the D3 + installation fit in nicely...and yeah..the baby is only a month old got a great deal since the G37s are comin in soon

Were you able to get it set up to where you can use the steering wheel controls and the bluetooth system through the speakers? Just curious as I may pursue this in the future.

You have to solder the dual climate button to the new AC controller board.
