Hello Everyone,
I know this topic has been discussed but bare with me I'm a newbie (G35 6MT Coupe arriving in 2 weeks). I know that people have mentioned the possibility of "hacking" the Nav system so it will play DVD's. Is there any progress on that process. I would probably do it if the current system could be hacked but 1-2 G's to have a DVD on while I sit in traffic seems a little ridiculous.

 

I don't think it's going to happen.

I think the final answer is that there's no way for the DVD Nav to decode the a video DVD, and thus it's not going to happen. Even with infinite firmware upgrades, the hardware will never be able to pull it off. I'd love to see it, but it's been two years and *nothing* has come up that's proven true. Everyone has a friend at the dealership who knows someone whose cousin's room-mate's brother got it to work, but no one's ever seen it.
