Sirius Antenna Installation

I just finished installing my Sirius Radio Tuner, which is working great, but I still need to permanently mount the antenna. I was hoping to put it on the rear shelf inside the car, but I seem to get a lot of drop out presumedly due to metalized tint in the rear window. Looking at the instructions from Infiniti on installating the antenna on the roof, it looks like there is a seal/cover that is supposed to be installed along the top edge of the window. I don't see anything like this in my kit though. Is this something that I need to order separately, or that I can just go without?

Re: Sirius Antenna Installation

Just doing some research...

Has anyone tried using the Terk SIR-3 antenna with the Terk SIR-SP adapter for connecting a single input antenna to a dual input tuner? I'm not sure if this will improve my ability to install an antenna on the rear shelf, but at least the antenna is a little smaller.
