Escort Passport 8500 Rattle
I recently hardwired my Escort Passport 8500 and placed in on the top left of my windshield right below the tint strip.
The detector rattles everytime I go over a bump and it's driving me crazy. I was thinking about purchasing a visor mount, but I don't want to decrease the detection range by placing it near the tint strip and I don't like the fact that the detector will be facing down everytime I need to use the visor. I was also thinking about using Mike's mount, but I place my Nuvi 350 right below my rear view mirror.
Any ideas? Thanks.

My G35 has built-in Nav, but I purchased a Nuvi 350 before I got my G35. I still use it occassionally even on my G35 for long trips. Usually, it's left in my wife's car. I used to use the sunction cup mount that came with the Nuvi. However, I don't like leaving my G35 in view when parked. I also don't like leaving the sunction cup mount in the windshield when I'm parked for an extended period of time, since a thief might think there's something good left in the glove compartment. So, I got one of the bean bags that Nuvi makes for their GPSs, including the G35. It's not as slick looking as the sunction cup mount, but it is very convenient, and much faster to setup and take down as compared to the sunction cup mount. It's also very stable. It has never slid or fallen out of the dashboard. Anyway, if you use the bean bag approach, you'll free up room for your Escort.
