Electrical Problem!

Hey guys. I own a Japanese imported Skyline 350GT with Tiptronic transmission. It's basically an Infiniti G35 Coupe. I'm not sure whether it's exactly the same, but when in reverse gear, I get an annoying bleeping from behind the instrument panel and I want to disconnect it. Problem is, other features utilize the same bleeper. So my question is, can it be disconnected at the gear shift and has anyone been successful in doing so?

If the beeper is used for multiple things then it's safe to assume that each device that utilizes it has a wire running from the trigger to the buzzer. You just need to track down via a wiring diagram which wire it is that runs from either the base of the shifter or from the tranny to the buzzer. Chances are it's just a basic connection that gets made at the base of the shifter that gets physical connection when the shifter is in the reverse position. I'm just guessing as I don't have a wiring diagram, but if that is the case, eliminating the ability for the two points to make contact would elimiate the signal from ever making it's way to the buzzer.
