gmen,
Sounds cool, how are you going to power it though? I can see leaving the computer on for a few hours, but overnight would surely kill the battery. Have you figured some way of running the camera without a computer involved and then connecting to the internet?

g.o.c.:
I have another question for you... since you got rid of the original frame for the Xenarc, do you have anyway of accessing the buttons that were on there before?
most important thing I guess would be power on/off. and not sure but I guess you can just set it to max brightness before taking it apart and it will remember it?

I don't currently have a way of accessing the buttons, but I am going to desolder and extend them and put them in the glove box.
I also finished the How-To. It can be found here:

Re: Stealth 7" Xenarc VGA TouchScreen Install
I know this is a very old thread but I just became interested in this carputer thing
Would you be willing to sell one of these things? I'm interested in pretty much all the options you mentioned, except the camera all over
I've been researching a little and I found a site: http://www.carcpu.com/
It seems like everything I want in a carputer. What are your thoughts on this?

http://www.carcpu.com seems rather expensive. You could do much better buying the parts on yoru own and assembling it yourself.
I've been working on the software for a couple of years now and will finally be going commercial with it once its done, probably in another six months... If you can wait, I'll be more then happy to hook you up then

Great job on the install.! Btw, the only question I have is, what kinda government regulation prohibits a frame shop from making a frame smaller than 5"?!! Thats just insane. What kinda world are we coming to where I can't frame a dollar bill if I want to?!? Heheh, just a thought.
It ain't just a Nissan!
