should i use the Mike mount onto the rearview mirror or hardwire for my detector?

I know alot of people Use mike mount with invisicord. However, I want the "shortcut" button so i can silent the radar instantly. So...what do you guys think?

I have Red Escort passport 8500

i have the mikes mount with a vector 995 wired in with the Direct Wire SmartPlug and i love it.

I have the Mike's mount and remote for my Beltronics. It's hardwired into the fuse panel.
