Z2, factory amp/speakers?

I know, not a long-term solution, but I'll be doing the double-din conversion here pretty soon with a Pioneer Z2 and I'm not going to be ditching the bose amp and speakers quite yet.
How do you guys suggest sending the signal from the Z2 to the bose amp... my first thought is to run the RCAs to the amp, then splice the RCAs from the deck into the OEM harness going to the bose amp... not chopping up the long RCA cables, of course I don't know if this will be the proper input voltage for the Bose amp... or if it will even be close.

The other solution would be using my LC6 to take the 4-channel signal from the high-level speaker outputs on the Z2 and turn it into 6 channels of low-level outputs, which I would similarly splice into the factory harness. The good thing about the LC6 is that the levels are adjustable... so I would have a better chance at getting the voltage right.

What do you guys think... what does everyone usually do...

Eventually I want to ditch the Bose amp and stick my JL 300/2 in its place, with the 500/1 on top of it, under the trunk trim piece, with fans. Right now I have the 500/1 and the bose amp under there. I wonder if that will work.

Help is muchos appreciated.

I haven't done this setup, but one suggestion I have made to others is to do scenario number 1 - run RCA's from tha Z2 into the factory harness. You could even do that behind the Z2 where the Nissan harness adapter plugs into the harness.

I have read from people that have measured the Bose HU output at just over 2 volts. The Z2 has a 2 volt output that might match up pretty well.

If the level isn't enough, you could then connect the LC6.

Sorry to jack your tread lancer. Good to see you Sean. Is that apply to Z1 as well. I don't understand much about amp stuff and I just want to use my bose amp with Z1. I got these harness from Crutchfield. Do I have to do anything else or just connect it to Z1 harness.

no kidding, looks like it is 2.2v after all, I thought it would be 4...
so if the stock headunit is 2v, that would be a nice match.

Sweet. I'll probably end up running all 3 RCAs to the back anyway, so I won't have to fool with it later.
Thanks

If you run speaker level outs to the Bose amp, it's not going to be good.

You can run the RCA outs into the Bose amp or get an LOC and reduce the speaker level to line level.

I think I need help on this one badly because first I don't know what LOC is.
From the research I've learned that there are 5 groups of wire behind the OME unit. 1 for AC control, 2 for OEM HU, 1 for ash tray and last one I don't know maybe for sat harness. What I want to know is 2 of those wire plugs for HU does not including the connection to the OEM amp? I am very confused. By reading these posts I had the impression of OEM amp is another step which I've to use RCA cable to wire into the Z1 HU. Please help me out and I need detail DIY information on how exactly I should do this. I just have a Z1 HU and I am using stock speakers and stock amp. Thank you again.
