You will need to use an amp of some kind. You can't run the speakers off of the Bose HU's power output.

if i buy an aftermarket amp, how can i hook it up, without re-wiring all speakers? I was told there is an amp at the back for the REAR speakers, and an amp in each front door. so total 3 amps. Any help will be really nice

i am doing this on a QX4 with BOSE.

Whomever told you that information is VERY wrong. There is one Bose amp in the trunk that takes all 4 channels (front/rear left and right) from the Bose HU (which is made by Clarion). The Bose HU outputs a very low level audio signal of about 2 volts or so and sends it to the single Bose amp in the trunk. The Bose amp makes 4 channels into 6 (adding the two 6x9 "subwoofers" in the rear deck) and amplifies all channels to power the speakers.

There are several threads concerning the wiring colors to connect to (I posted them a few says ago somewhere) and others telling you how to effectively remove the Bose amp and put another in its place. I have done this to my sedan.

I have a JL Audio 500/5 for sale that I used to have in my coupe that was connected in this manner as well and would be perfect.

If you already ran the wire from your battery to power the carputer all you have to do is get a power distribution block to split the power in your trunk and use for the 2 amps.

The amp(s) you get will dictate the power wire size that you need to run unless you already have a 1 gauge power wire running to your carputer.

A 500/5 will run 4 channels and a sub.

I doubt the wire colors are the same for the G35 and the QX4.

Here are the wire colors.

The Bose speakers are 2 ohms. If you get new speakers, you can use 2 ohm or 4 ohm speakers. You just want to make sure that your amp can handle a 2 ohm load is you get 2 ohm speakers. Practically all amps can handle 4 ohm loads.
