I want to give my wife Sirius radio for her birthday. She has the non-Bose, base factory stereo system. The car is a 2005 G35 Coupe. Do the non-Bose stereos come pre-wired for satellite radio? I've searched all over and can't find any info....everything seems to pertain to Bose. She's out of town, so I can't just look in trunk to see if I can find a plug. Any ideas?

If it's not pre-wired, does anybody make a plug or a kit for the base stereo to do away with the FM modulator setup if I just get a Starmate or Sportster?

 

Some 2003 and all 2004 and up G's are prewired for satellite radio, regardless of the radio option.

www.everythingg35.com and www.grubbsperformance.com sell XM and Sirius tuner boxes for around $200. In the coupe, the sat tuner connection is in the left rear corner of the trunk.

 

If it's an 05, it should be pre-wired. The way to check is by VIN number and the magic switch to the "pre-wired" versions happened in 03 so everything from then on is pre-wired. (or so it goes from my math) The type of OEM radio never came into it.
