Accessing back of navi control unit

Do I REALLY need to take apart my entire dash again to get to the VSS wire on the back of the Navi control unit?

Nope. Just the passenger side. It's only a few screws.

Do you mean just take off the glove box and reach back behind there? It seems kind of tight.

i think it takes about 3 minutes to pull everything out

remove shift boot (pops in)
unscrew 4 screw (2 for faceplacte, 2 more for unit)
remove/unplug faceplate
pop vents
unscrew 2 display screw
pop/unplug display
pull out unit

done n done

I can get to mine without removing anything from the center. Just remove the glove box and you can get to the back of the Nav DVD player.
