Polk EX3500 Install?

I just got these 1" tweeters, and looked through some posts noticing that most people have the Polk crossover with the unit. Since I just bought the tweeters, I don't have the Polk Crossover, does that mean I need to install or bypass a capacitator in order to get the right crossover frequency to the tweeter or is the crossover built into the tweeter itself on the Polk and Bose and all I need to do is swap them out? Any advice or links to DIY's would be much appreciated. Thanks!

If there isn't a capacitor embedded in the tweeters' wire leads, then you will need to add one. The tweeters will melt in a hurry if you run them full range.

no there already is a cross over on them. its that circet bord thing on the wires. its been a long time scince i did mine but i deffently remember there being a cross over. its just not a big as the one the guy did in that pictoreal. It will sound great when its done. Do you have a coupe or a sadan? if u have a coupe u will need to cut the cornors of the tweeters inorder for them to fit in the stock mounting location. Or at least i had to do that. if u need help with it on a coupe drop me a PM and i will help you out.

Good luck, and they are well woth the time to install

I've got a Sedan. But If it's on the wire for the Bose, I guess I just need to know where to splice in so I make sure I get the Bose crossover out. Any ideas?

I upgraded my tweeters with Infinity 1" and used a 10uF capacitor as the crossover as described in other threads. I got the capacitors for $0.99 each at Radio Shack.

I think the sedan is a little different than the coupe including the color of the wires going to the tweeters, but I don't know for sure.
