Nav won't take 66 near DC

Has anyone else who lives near DC noticed that nav will never route you onto 66 inside of the beltway? It will give tell you to go on sidestreets when 66 is a straight shot. And when you ignore it and get on 66 anyway - because you know what you're doing - it fails to calculate any routes until you get off of 66!

Any explanation for this? This is a HO3 road during rush hour, maybe that's why it doesn't ever use it?

Your guess is correct. The NAV recognizes I-66 inside the beltway as a "Restricted Road" 24/7. It does not know what the actual restricted hours and directions are. But you can easily bypass this problem by selecting "User Restricted Roads" in the route options screen. When you do that, the Nav will identify and use I-66 just fine.

BTW, selecting "Use Time Restricted Roads" does fix this. But it warns you each time which is annoying.
