HowTo: Construct a housing for a Xenarc 7" Screen
I finally finished the how-to that goes through the process I used to install my 7" xenarc touch screen in my g35 coupe. The process should work just the same on the sedan.
The how-to can be found here:
http://filebox.vt.edu/users/cholbroo...ousing%203.doc
Additional Hi-Res images of every picture I took when doing the How-To can be found here (4mb file with ~80 images):
http://filebox.vt.edu/users/cholbroo...nstallPics.zip
The original post about my own install can be found here:
https://g35driver.com/forums/showfla...sed&sb=5&part=
Feel free to use this How-To in any way you wish. If you find any problems with it, let me know and I will try and update it and be sure to take some pictures of your install and up them.
Have Fun!

Exceedingly well done. I have been staring at mine for about a week now trying to come up with some way to get this done. I still would love to get it motorized, but at least I have someplace to start with the dirty work done.
Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.

god_of_cpu: Thanks for the amazing write up! I am actually going to take it to my installer and have it done professionally.
one question about your setup. how do you have the audio hooked up to your stereo? I am hoping the AUX adapter will be ready soon!! =\

Fluffydot,
The audio is currently through an FM modulator mounted in the upper glove box. I plan on replacing it though as soon as an AUX adaptor is developed too.
Good luck with your install and let me know how it goes, I'd be very interested in seeing how good a professional could do it.

You are the man god_of_cpu.. i just finished up with the howto and got my xenarc mounted in my car
damn im happy. it was really crappy with the universal mount in the cubbyhole.. the angle was off and hard to see.. with the new housing the angle is perfect.. and its stealth
i even ran the monitor buttons down to my ash tray and thru 6 buttons in there. 5 for the xenarc buttons and one for my computer power..
definetely an excellent way to mount the xenarc.. ill say the in/out of the screen is not by any means smooth on my install.. it gets kinda caught up hehe.. but that is most likely due to my hasty nature of wanting to get it done.. but it is still nice and hidden when in, and nice and viewable when out.

I had to delete them off my server cause I needed some more space to transfer a few things. I just put them back up so they should work now.
