Dynomat - Picture
My friend put dynomat in his fx 35 and it really help reducing the noise. Now the bas is less boomy and little more control. knowing that, i decided to dynomat my car again. This time, complete door dynomat.
Here are some pictures. The first one show the left door before i started.

Re: Dynomat - Picture
I haven't installed dynomat since the old rubber style that would add about 10 lbs per door. How much do you think that new stuff weighs per door? 2 or 3 lbs?
Nice pics.

Re: Dynomat - Picture
i would say at least 3 lbs. I think it is more like 5lbs. if you have the time, please do so. i feel the bass is less boomy and more responsive now. when i close the door, it feel much more solid when it shut.
my next project is to open the rear seat and dynomat everything i see. most noise is coming from the rear wheel, if i can dynomat that area, hopefully it will reduce some road noise.

Re: Dynomat - Picture
I've never Dynomatted before, so I have many questions.
Where did you get the Dynomat from? How much did you buy?
I saw a bulk pack at a local car stereo shop for $200!
Do you really need to cover the entire area (door, trunk lid, spare tire well, etc)?
Thanks in advance,
blksnake

Re: Dynomat - Picture
Try cascade audio for your sound-deading. They rate much higher in fequency control than dynamat and have a wider selection of products for performance and the price sensitive.

Re: Dynomat - Picture
I bought my Dynamat from Ebay, just search by Dynamat
Yeah, I can definitely tell the difference with dynamat... it is much more solid...
I am going to dynamat the door later on...
BTW, you only put one layer of dynamat right?

Re: Dynomat - Picture
How hard is it to DIY dynamat? Recommended docs, tools, skills? Perhaps approx. time for install?
I'm assuming some of the DIYers have the service manual to locate all the places to take apart the panels and such. I was looking at a shop to do this, but man some places charge you up da **** on the labor.
Ah I was looking at a Dynamat Extreme bulk kit. 36sq ft. Want to do trunk lid, trunk floor, rear quarter panels, rear deck area, rear wheel wells, and doors. Do I need more dynamat? :P
I don't think I need to do the floor since all cars come with sound deadening material already on the floor and dynamatting the roof with a sunroof seems way too hairy for me or a pro to do.
Any responses welcome!
