DD Install Question

DD Install Question
I have an Eclipse AVN 5500 and a Metra DD kit. I was wondering if the Headunit is supposed to sit flush with the Dash or whether it is supposed to protrude a bit? Also, am I supposed to cut and use the trim that came with the Eclipse unit or am I supposed to use the trim piece that comes with the Metra kit? Can anyone give me some tips or suggestions? Thanks.

you need to drill new holes in the bracket for the deck to sit flush.

Some HU's fit more flush than others. Also, some fill up the DD slot in the trim piece more than others too.
