Speaker recommendation please
Hi all. I would love to gut the entire Bose system but that will have to wait until after I finish saving for performance mods. For now, I want the least expensive way to upgrade the current system. From reading posts I decided to replace the tweeters with Infinity Reference 1001T (with the 10uf capacitor in line) due to great reviews from forum members. They are on the way. Now I am thinking since the door panel is going to be off anyway.....why not replace the 6.5" also.
1. Has anyone had good (noticeable) results replacing them (and keeping stock amp, etc.)?
2. Any recommendations on brand or model?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
thanks,

Re: Speaker recommendation please
No, I have not heard them on the stock Bose amp, I forgot to mention that I pretty much have picked out the JL audio 300/4 amp to replace the Bose.
As for the direct fit question, DiamondG I believe put has the same install I'm going to do. I have yet to get the direct fit question answered myself.
My recommendation for a new amp is the Bose amp is pure weak sauce.. Or so I've heard. The reason I'm switching out the front set of speakers is because the back 6x9 and 6.5 don't sound so bad when the front is turned off. The front speakers have the greatest effect on the quality of sound in your car, so I figure if I put in some kick *** speakers on the front, it won't be so bad.

Re: Speaker recommendation please
The Q-Line are awesome! I heard them and knew right away those were for me! My G goes in for installation March 16-20th. I am going to take as many pictures and post them if I can. I am installing MB Quart QM218.61 in the front and in the rear. I am using two JL 300/4 amps (1 for each pair.... the install guys told me these speakers love juice so he recommended two JL 300/4 instead of just the one I had). The amps are being installed in the trunk in place of the spare along with a JL 500/1 and a JL10W7. They even talked me into getting the Eclipse DV3101 dvd player which they said they could connect to the navigation display. To handle all the power they recommended Phoenix Gold's TPOWERGRID10 which is a 10 farad capacitor. I originally purchased a Monster Digicap (1farad) but they said for the extra money the Phoenix Gold was definatly worth it. All this along with a full dynamat application and I am all set. I am so excited to get it finished and installed! I'll let you know how it turns out and like I said try for some pictures. Many people talk about their installs but thats only half helpful without any pictures.
