Re: NAV normally up or down?

I've always thought that when you park your car and shut it off the NAV screen goes down automatically...then it comes up automatically again when you start the car (if you left it up before you shut the car off)........Is this the case...or I guess the screen remains up even after you shut off the car???!!! I was hoping it's like the motorized faces on aftermarket radios...I guess not....

jcbx,
The NAV up/down mechanism is mechanical (plain springs) and not electronic, hence, it doesn't go up/down automatically - only by the magic force of your hand....

Add 1 vote for the "leave it up when I'm driving, down when I'm parked" folks.

I leave it down unless I'm using it. I check the fuel economy pretty often though, so it's usually popped up at least once when I'm driving.

Up while driving and down while parked for dust and sun

Re: NAV normally up or down?

I've gotten in the habit of driving with it up. Why?

The low fuel, door ajar, engine problems, and other indicators will only be displayed if the display is up.

Re: NAV normally up or down?

I just like hearing the sexy lady's voice. In my old RX-8, the nav would pop out of the top of the dash in a clamshell and then close when the car is turned off. I was looking for the close button on the G for a while until i got the nerve to "break" the screen by pressing down to close.
