Mind posting some closeups of one of those so we can see how it's attached?

Looks nice and clean!

If you run a front plate, put them as close as you can to it. The front plate is the first thing they spot. It's reflective.

There are some that work better than others. Laser Interceptor, Laser Park Pro, and Blinder M25 / M45 are probably three to look into.

The V1 is a top-notch radar detector, but when it comes to laser, they say it's more a "ticket detector" - because when it alerts to laser, your tagged. Same goes for any radar/laser detector.

The only sure protection against laser is to get a laser jammer/shifter.

Yeah, fortunately I don't have a front plate.

And based on tests I've seen, it appears that a single head diode-based jammer would work well right in the bottom part of the grill under the emblem. But two heads down below as pictured above is probably fine as well...just a little far from the headlights.

Yes they work on my car. When I was in New Orleans had a reservist that was also a Real Cop. We got to play with his laser, and it took him almost 20 seconds to get a lock on my car. Any one that uses a range finder in golf knows how hard it is to get a lock, and if the target is sending back light beams. My advise is always, DOWN SHIFT, to get within 10 over, then turn off the jammer (hit Mute twice).

I did a post on this back in Feb, but here is a small walk thru...

Step 1 was cutting the grill (The car was 2 days old) for the jammer.

Step 2, I then did about four mock ups with cardboard, putting the front clip on and off to figure out the distance down from the bumper the jammer needed to be, then created my own metal mount. Here is the Jammer in the front clip awaiting the last mock up. I put the clip on, then DUCT taped the jammer to the bumper, removed the clip, and drilled small pilot holes, then metal mounting screws. Leading us to the next picture (both of my metal mounts were not the same, had to use what I had, but you get the idea).

and then a final install picture of both jammers and the BIG radar receiver.

And then complete.

Unless you are looking for the jammers, they are not noticed. Since in FL a front plate is not required, I have been told they are taught to aim at the front bumper. These run enough interference to avoid going to jail, I always turn off the jammer (Hit remote mute twice) when I'm at 9 over if I have a "LASER ALERT FRONT RIGHT"

I love this unit, just need to get my display "etched" into my rear-view mirror.

Yeah, but I personally think they are UGLY sticking out the grill, they really stand out, to as where mine are hidden. Jammers need a clear view of the road. Radar receiver does not.

The better ones like "Blinder" are a combination of laser "detector" and "jammer". When a cop "paints" your front bumper with the laser, it does two things at once, sounds an alarm and sends a jamming signal for 5 seconds. Why only 5 seconds? That's enough time for you to get on the binders and slow down to a legal speed but not enough for the cop to think that you are really jamming him. If he thinks you are jamming his signal, he may give you a ration of **** just because he can. Laser jammers are not illegal unless by local ordinance. They are laser emitters and as such are controlled by the FDA not the FCC, State or local governments.

Radar detectors with "laser" detections are USELESS! If it goes off, the cop is painting your car, you are caught, period. The only thing that might save you is if he leaves his gun going a bit long and you catch it a few cars back. VERY UNLIKELY.

I have never installed or used the "Blinder", so I can not give an opinion whether it is a Better one or not. In my eyes from numerous installs, I will only use the Escort SRX and BEL RX75+, which are almost the same units with a BIG price difference, that have active jammers (or shifters). I completely agree a detector with just a Laser receiver just let's you know that you are painted. My Escort SRX and BEL RX75+ automatically JAMS, and will continue to until I hit the remote mute twice (it will JAM for as long as it is getting a signal, have tested this). You want to turn off jamming/shifting as soon as you can (again, hit mute twice), a Good Police Officer will know somethings up if he can not get a fix on your speed in a reasonable time, and like written above, will pull you over just to say hello.
