sup yall,
i've been following the posts on how to upgrade the stock system. i went out and got a JL system installed( 6.5 components in front, 6x9's rear's) and 8w7 in the trunk w/ a 500/5 jl amp....everything sounds good, but now my rearview mirror rattles when the bass is up...any suggestions?

hello: i too have this problem before, but no longer tho...cus IT broke off two weeks ago!...i meant no disrespect but, is everyone and their family have JL's in their car?...s.w.

I have the same problem. Even the smallest bump in the road vibrates my mirror. I read in an article if you have the auto dimming mirror this happens a lot and if you have just the basic mirror it takes a little more effort to shake the mirror.

 

Have you checked the wires for the autodim in the back of the mirror? They tend to rattle a lot. There's even a TSB to fix it.

I don't prefer the sound of JL speakers, but the JL amps and subs are pretty damn good.

thanks for the info...yall were right bout the autodim wires...i secured those and my rattle went away....next step is fixing the rear speaker shelf rattle.

hey igzoom, you have the setup that i want, can you please post a pic of how the sub fits in your trunk... how does it sound with just 1 jl 8w7? is it powered by a 500/1 amp? if so, is the bass good enuff? im thinking about going 1 8w7, if not enuff add another, please let me know how your setup sounds... i really want hard hitting bass...
