Bose CD changer problem

When I am playing cds the sounds travels from one speaker to another. Like the right side would only play or then the left side.. sometimes only one speaker.. its bloody annoying. Its not the speakers because the radio is fine

anyone else have these problems?

It's a known problem with some cars. It's apparently in the CD section of the HU. It is covered under warranty.

I am out of warranty, so I need to fix this myself. Any suggestions?

Options: don't play CDs, get an MP3 player to connect it, buy a used OEM radio to replace it, do a double DIN swap, or have it repaired.
