Need some help with my sub

Hey guys,

I just got a new G coupe a few weeks ago with the Bose system. I have a JBL 600.1 amp and a Diamond Audio 12" sub from my previous car. I don't have a lot of extra money right now, but I would like to get a little bit better sound out of my system. Is it possible for me to connect my JBL amp to the Bose system somehow? I don't really want to mess with changing the speakers as they sound good enough for my taste. I just want to focus on the bass. I like it a little more boomy and deep. Is this possible, and if so how much do you think it would cost to have a local car audio shop install it all? Thanks!

You can take the factory amp outs to the rear 6x9s and convert those to RCAs to connect to your JL amp (or take the outs to the rear stocks, whichever you perfer to disconnect). If you want circuit city to do it, it'll be like $80...you're looking at $300+ if you want a car stereo place like Tweeter that charges by the hour to install it. My suggestion is to find a circuit city that you trust; however, they've been known to f*ck up a lot of installations...Otherwise, it'd probably be best to do it yourself. Good luck!

shouldn't take more than an hour to do it. Circuit city is horrible. I dont care which one you go to, i wouldnt trust them with a car they have probably never worked on.

Go to a reputable stereo shop. It shouldn't cost more than $150 including parts. You might even be able to get it done for about $100 if you shop around. Circuit city isn't worth saving $20.

Otherwise, just try to do it yourself. Its not very hard and there are many sites that can help you with this installation. Here are some good links that may help:

Enjoy!
