Navigation question?

So.. I bought a 6.4 navigation disc off of ebay because my car didn't come with one from the dealer. and I got it 2 days ago at lunch put the navi disc in and it worked fine all day. Woke up the next morning for work and started my car the navi screen said please wait and after a very long pause it said wrong version of navi disc in DVD Rom. So I take it out and update with the system disc that came with the map disc. went through the whole update thing and worked all day and night. Woke up this morning and same thing. What could be causing this? Could it be because its cold? when I put the disc in at lunch when it isn't cold it works fine. Any ideas or has this ever happened to any of you? Thanks and sorry for wall of text

It Might Be That The Disc Fogs Up Inside Teh Machine And Causes The Laser Not To Read It Because Of The Tempature Difference.

That is exactly what I was thinking but, wanted to get some feedback. Do any of you guys that live in colder climates have this problem. I live in Texas so I shouldn't have this problem for about another month.

its not about the cold, its about the humidity, and yes, here in texas you have to run the ac to get the humidity down before the disk will work exactly right.

its also a little bit about the cold... should get better as the weather gets nicer.

i dont have problems with my navigation here in chicago, i was using it a few weeks ago when the low was -2..the system should be designed to work with all climates. Was the disc you bought a burned copy or was it a legitamite copy? It might be a problem with the system disc. BTW the newest version is 6.6 came out last october.

Well i'm a computer tech and deal with alot of burned cds and dvds so I know first hand they can give you problems but I have never really had one that would work during the day and not in the morning. I think it really has something to do with the humidity in texas. I just can't see the disc working during the day all day and night everytime I start the car without ever giving a error message and then boom every morning. I'll see what better weather brings.

i really think its the humidity, when i first start my car and have the ac running, i can see the water clouds in my car like fire going away and coming back... give it time... or you could wrap it in a bag or something...
