Pioneer headunit functions while driving...

I'm trying to decide which headunit to buy (Z2, D3, etc) and after reading some reviews I've heard that a lot of the functions are disabled while driving (ie nav, functions, etc)...

Is there a way to bypass this? Similar to the DVD bypass?
