Steering wheel controls with aftermark DD
Steering wheel controls with aftermark DD
Is there anyway to make that work?
I'm thinking of getting the eclipse 6620 or the Z1/Z2 from pioneer.
There isn't much information online for those about making it, just wondering if anyone has done it.
Thanks,
Adam

you'll need a PAC adaptor (Part Number: SWI-ECL2) for Eclipse. Here is the site with info http://www.pac-audio.com/products/pr...rface#SWI-CAN2

I'm hooking mine up tomorrow, does anyone know which harness contains the SWC wire that I need to tap into? I see a harness that is not connected to anything anymore since I changed to an aftermarket radio and I'm wondering if the white wire on that harness is the one that I'm suppose to tap into

not sure about that, the site and instructions say the plug has 30 pins and I just checked with the installer at Sound Advice and he said there is another plug located a little further down in thats where is needs to be tapped into. I'll check it out tomorrow and let you know if that was the case

There are 4 plugs that go into the back of the OEM radio - two for power and speakers, one for satellite radio, and the 4th is the steering wheel controls.
I'm not seeing 4 plugs, I see 3 plugs (two for radio, one for Sat)
I even went to two Circuit City's and Two Best Buy's and none of them could help me. I have the unit grounded and connected to power so the only thing left to do (hopefully) is connected the final wire (white) to the SWC.
I have to get this thing down asap because I moved my radio to the upper glove box so I'll have the dash ready for my touchscreen

Ok, i think I know what is going on here. I looked a little closer at the wire bundle and decided to unwrap it and confirm the wires inside. It appears the previous owner had a a SWC adaptor installed previously and had cut the plug from the harness and installed some resistors. I have four wires that have resistors on them and one of them is white with a green stripe I think. I'm gonna try and hook this up again tonight and I'll get back with more results
