Bass Control **** question

I have a JL 500/1 amp and I just receieved the remote bass control **** in the mail and when i connected it and tried to change the bass level, nothing happened. Is there anything I need to do on the amp to enable the control ****? I thought all I had to do is connect both ends and it would work immediately.

Thanks

you will probably have to adjust the gain on the amp to notice a difference.

It seems that the remote bass port is broken on the amp. I have tried several different remote ***** and none of them make a difference. Anyone else experience the same problem? Can it be fixed?

The JL ***** aren't the normal massive bass boost ***** that other manufacturers have put out in the past. They are a bit of a tuning tool. The section where it plugs into is where the magic happens. The **** only gives the bass a little control.

The problem is that I notice no difference whatsoever when i connect the **** and rotate it. My 500/1 amp has its gain turned all the way down and I thought that might be the reason why the **** doesnt work but I tried turning up the gain and the **** still has no effect on output.

Defective amp?

Did you slide the switch that turns the bass EQ on? It should be just to the left of the bass **** jack. You also have to adjust the boost level.
