I want to get a new cd deck but first I want to know if it will affect the navi:

1) Will my navi still speak?
2) Will the music lower when navi speaks?
3) Any recommendations?

Re: Will navi still talk if deck is replaced?
The Nav provides a simultaneous mute signal and line-level audio input to the stock head unit. If your replacement deck supports these two signals, you're OK. Many aftermarket units will support the mute function [note that the mute signal from the Nav is not the industry standard "connect to ground"; rather, it is a +12V signal; therefore a relay is required], but supporting a secondary aux input on demand is another trick entirely. You might end up having to install a small separate amp and speaker for the Nav voice.

I would love to reply to this post but Noremac answered everything so perfectly that I don't have a thing to add, so I guess I will just look for another post to respond too
