Which subs fit stock hole in Bose Sedan?

I'm wondering which subs actually bolt right up without any issues? I would prefer to have a openair sub instead of my big box which takes up a decent amount of trunk room.

Not sure EXACTLY what you mean, by stock "hole". The coupe or sedan do not have "subs". They have 6x9s in the rear deck that are crossed over in such a way that in combination w/ the air space in your trunk can produce moderate bass. But no matter what you put in there will not produce bass anywhere near a nice 10 or 12 in a box w/ an amp.

Hope this helps.

are you sure the sedan doesn't have a sub? I know the coupe has 2 6x9s..but I was almost positive the sedan does have one.

The sedan with the "premium" "Bose" seven speaker stereo system includes the "Nd" Woofer. If that is the same is as a sub then yes.

Re: Which subs fit stock hole in Bose Sedan?

So am I right? lol... the Bose Sedan has 7 speakers.. according to everything I've read:
2 tweets
2 6.5 drivers in front doors
2 5.25 drivers in rear doors
1 sub on rear deck (which is supposedly 8 inches)

Is this correct?? What does "Nd" mean?

I'm sorry, I stand corrected. The sedan does have a sub.

Just reading the sedan brochure, it says "Nd" woofer.

I am not sure of the sub size when I took mine out. I think it is about 8" but not sure. I do know the it is the smallest and weakest magnet I have ever seen. I turned it into a bass tube and have a 12" 1,000 watt Polk Momo firing into the trunk and through the bass tube. The sedans do not have any other speakers on the rear deck. 6.5" in all doors with separates up front and the sub woofer if you have premium system.

Are you sure about the 6.5s inthe rear doors? I bought 5.25s for them, because I was told the stock bose speaker is 5.25, but if you remove the bracket for it will reveal a 6.5, is this correct?

Re: Which subs fit stock hole in Bose Sedan?

WHAT? I don't have the 6x9's in my X Sedan???

Oh man, I just went and looked. No 6x9's! Now I gotta rethink my install.

Hmm, looks like there is supposed to be 6x9's there. I wonder if I could go ahead and mount some there anyway? Would save me the uninstall!

6gear. What speakers exactly did you put in your doors? I think you said db6500's in the front. What about the back?

I will be using the BOSE amp for now, but I have a 85x4 amp I will be putting in sometime. I was going to run the front and rear deck speakers with the amp but was wondering how to power whatever new sub I get without anohter amp. Guess I could run the sub in parrralel with the rear doors? Since it's only an 8 inch sub, 85 watts bridged/in parrallel should be OK.

I have 6.5" db6500 in front and back doors. Mounted the tweeters on the forward part of the back doors. I think they are the same size for the G35x.

Re: Which subs fit stock hole in Bose Sedan?

"Nd" Woofer is Bose's patented woofer using a Neodymium Iron Boron magnet. They say despite it's smaller size it has 10 times the power of a standard magnet.

I got this out of the I30 manual I have from 2-3 years ago. I believe the 200 Watt Bose unit is identical to the I30's 200 Watt system except for the HU.

Apparently Infiniti has upgraded the amp to 222 Watts recently though.

Payam81:

Does anybody know if we can easily acquire the upgraded BOSE amp (222 watts) ? How about cost? I noticed on the Infiniti website that the system now had that upgraded amp standard on the BOSE system (Premium). Would it be easy to "swap out" the existing amp for the upgraded unit?
