Nav System
Nav System
Well, I will soon be purchasing a new g35 coupe, black on black. Premium Package.. And i wanted to know if the NAV system is a package worth spending an additional 2,000$ and i wanted to know if anyone knows any other options that are worth getting or not.
Re: Nav System
Get it with everything so you'll never say "I wish I had gotten _____".

Re: Nav System
That's a loaded question. I love my stock nav system, to me it was absolutely worth the money.
There are functionally better aftermarket navs (touch screen, in particular, would be a big plus), but it's quite an undertaking to get something aftermarket behaves as asthetically as the stock system does (e.g., in the stock navi location). There are many that can pop out of a din and over your AC controls.
On the other hand, you can probably save some cash and get a really sweet aftermarket sound+nav system running if you forgo both the Bose "upgrade" and Navi.

Re: Nav System
that will depend on if you gonna upgrade the stock stereo?, if you going to replace the stock deck, you will need the double din kit from japan, then i wll say do not get the factory NAVI, you can get pionner's AVIC N1 for two thousand, less if you buy it on-line, it offer more feature than stock ones for about same price!.

Re: Nav System
I'm with Trentacinque -- get everything. (if you can afford it)
If you can't, get it anyway -- it's cheaper than retrofitting.

Re: Nav System
If I had it to do over again Id have gotten the stock NAV. I went with the Eclipse AVN2454 all in one unit which IS better than Infiniti's Nav system. I was happy with the stock Bose sound system. Most will say Bose sucks, which it does for the $$$. In a G35 coupe space is a preminum an adding a bunch of aftermarket amps willl sacfrice something, space, spare tire etc...
If you are happy with the stock sounds systems quality then get the factory NAV. If you dont like the factory sound system then get the Eclipse or Kenwood double Din unit.
For me it was not too bad cost wise, I got my AVN at cost so I was out only $1800 with the JDM dash pieces. In the retail world you wont get a NAV (double din)piece with video for less than $2500.
