Lexan Window Battery Cover
I made a lexan window so my Stinger terminals can be seen. I bought some Lexan at Home Depot. About $10 for a 12x24x.093 piece.
It isn't quite flush, probably needs to be almost twice as thick, but this is the only thickness that would allow me to use the three small slots towards the back for holding it in. It's so clear it's hard to see in the pics but all three slots in the back were used as well as the two in the front.
If I need to charge the battery it's no more work. Pop 5 rivets and it's accessible. I'd have to do that anyway because I'm not clamping on to my nice terminals.
I think it came out pretty well considering I made it with a jigsaw, propped up on 2x4s, while on my hands and knees. Not much extra room in the one-car garage for a scroll saw or bench.
Along with the clarity, it's almost hard to tell there's even anything there. I'm posting a couple of pics with a Stinger sticker laid on top, looking for some feedback. I'm also thinking about ditching the factory tie-down. I realize it's an Optima battery and not a Stinger but all of the wiring in my car is Stinger (fuse blocks, dist blocks, terminals, power, ground, speaker wire, gaming plate, etc).
Thanks in advance.

hard to tell that something is even there!!!
only way I could tell was the stinger sticker....
can you fashion some rubber trim ring to cover up the slots and ledge the lexan sits in? too bad you couldn't carbon fiber the battery bracket, that would be nice!
